Statement from BCDC Committee

Update from BCDClub committee October 2020

As we have continued to follow Government and BC guidelines throughout much of 2020, we, as your committee, have been looking at how we can continue to provide Club activities into the new year and beyond. Our AGM will have to be a Zoom meeting on 11th (not 4th) December this year and we’d love to see as many of you as possible (no meal I’m afraid!). We are also looking at how we can accommodate those who don’t have access to Zoom. We will endeavour to get all relevant AGM information to you before the meeting and we request that you submit any questions you have before the meeting to enable us to prepare our answers. Further details will be published soon but, in the meantime, we would love to hear from our members with any ideas, suggestions for activities we could provide/organise for you in 2021.

There are some things we could do within the social distancing requirements e g. getting Barry Collyer (horsemastership), Gill Batt (bits and bitting) back to do demos of their respective skills and knowledge, various other workshops, horse first aid, plaiting, farrier talk about feet and shoeing, backsteppers’ workshop.

Please let us know what you would like to see happening and any other suggestions are most welcome. All of those mentioned we could do within current guidelines but numbers would be restricted depending on whether we are inside or outside. Of course, there will also be the usual camps and ODEs to look forward to in 2021 hopefully!

Please contact me either via e mail,, or contact me: 07843623644 to let us know what you would like to see the Club doing for you in 2021 or with any questions you may have.

If you also fancy a drive/ride out on many miles of farmland and quiet lanes in and around Peasmarsh, East Sussex please contact Donna Simmons 07940781920 for further details.

Let’s hope 2021 can be a more enjoyable year but who knows!
